What are the responsibilities and job description for the PDM - CNC Machinist position at Jasper Engines & Transmissions?
PDM – CNC Machinist
Job Overview: Some light duty lifting required and using a hoist to install vises, jigs, fixtures, and heavy work pieces onto the mill or lathe for machining. Use precision measuring equipment with both hands to accurately machine parts. Operating the controls of the mill or lathe with both hands to remove material from parts in conjunction with the specs and accuracy required for specific job. Ability to sufficiently operate computer systems to access instructions/specs and produce a quality product. Check lubricating fluid and fill as necessary. Clean/maintain mill, lathe and work area as needed and at the end of each shift. Prior Lathe or Milling experience preferred. Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, and t-gauges...bench and disc sanders...horizontal and vertical bandsaws.
LATHE OPERATION: Holding parts, tooling/sharpening, setup, cutting speeds and feeds, 4-jaw chuck, precision machining (.0001), cutting threads.
MILLING OPERATION: Use of mill, attachments, cutters and holders, cutter RPM and feed rates, mill flat surfaces, squaring parts, milling grooves, drilling, and tapping, boring, dividing or indexing head, setting up angles.

Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
- Overtime available
- The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
- The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours)
- The ability to use handheld tools such as Hammers, Screwdrivers, Disc Sanders, Wrenches, Tape Measures, Micrometers, Calipers, Etc.
- Standing: Continuously
- Walking: Continuously
- Sitting: Occasionally
- Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally.
- Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally
- Starting at $21.00 based on experience
- Multiple performance reviews within your first two years, which include the ability to receive multiple wage increases
