Overview
As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within the correctional facility. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise inmates, enforce rules and regulations, and ensure a safe environment for both staff and inmates. Duties
- Monitor inmate activities and behavior to prevent disturbances or escapes.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including cell checks and perimeter security.
- Utilize CCTV systems to observe inmate movements and maintain security protocols.
- Respond to emergencies, applying CPR and first aid as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations consistently and fairly.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills in conflict management and law enforcement techniques.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess a background in law enforcement or military service. Experience with conflict management techniques is essential. Certification in CPR and first aid is highly desirable. Familiarity with report writing is also important for documenting incidents accurately. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to upholding the law within the correctional environment.
