What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at Jasper County Charter System?
Position Start Date: Immediately
BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
This position is designed to general bus maintenance and repairs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general bus maintenance or repair
- Provide preventive maintenance
- Support safety inspections as required
- Assure maintenance records are kept on each vehicle
- Provide monthly inspections for each vehicle
- Follow daily work schedule for the bus shop
- Monitor inventory and report any needed supplies, materials, or parts
- Communicate with the fleet manager and drivers about maintenance and needed repairs on buses
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL
High school diploma or GED
Education or training in mechanics related to buses
Have or willing to obtain a Commercial Drivers License
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience as a truck/bus mechanic
