Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, hands-on care to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during evening and overnight hours. This role requires maintaining a calm, structured environment while remaining alert, responsive, and engaged—especially during nighttime hours when residents may be awake or require additional support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Resident Care:

Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding as needed.

Perform Q2 (every 2 hours) incontinent checks and care throughout the shift.

Reposition residents as required to maintain skin integrity and prevent pressure injuries.

Monitor residents for changes in condition, behavior, or safety concerns.
Nighttime Responsibilities:

Remain awake, alert, and actively monitoring residents at all times.

Conduct routine safety rounds and ensure a secure environment.

Engage appropriately with residents who are awake during the night, offering reassurance, redirection, and companionship as needed.

Respond promptly to call lights, alarms, and resident needs.
Environmental & Equipment Care:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout the shift.

Complete laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident linens and clothing as assigned.

Clean and sanitize wheelchairs, Broda chairs, and other resident equipment during overnight hours per facility protocol.

Ensure all equipment is in proper working order and report any concerns immediately.
Documentation & Reporting:

Accurately chart all care provided, including ADLs, incontinent care, behaviors, and any notable observations.

Report all changes in condition, incidents, or safety concerns to the nurse or supervisor promptly.

Complete required shift reports and communicate effectively with oncoming staff to ensure continuity of care.
