POSITION TITLE: Exceptional Children’s Adapted Curriculum Teacher
SITE: Jarvisburg Elementary SChool
REPORTS TO: Principal & EC Director
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month
SALARY: Per NC State Salary Schedule plus local supplement
STARTING DATE: August 11, 2025
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Must hold or be eligible to hold appropriate NC Licensure from the NC Department of Public Instruction
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to high achievement for all students
- Positive role model both professionally and personally
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Teacher should be able to assist students in:
- Adhere to ethical standards of the teaching profession, abiding by laws, policies and procedures that govern the schools
- Must be certified in Special Education
- Must be deemed “Highly Qualified” to teach special education
- Prepare lessons and provide learning opportunities in accordance with the academic level needed to reach exceptional children in a classroom setting
- Maintain classroom surroundings in order to enhance the learning environment
- Commitment to high achievement for all students
