The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth seeks a dynamic, visionary, and relationship-driven Executive Director to lead our highly respected nonprofit organization with a distinguished 56-year history of fostering mutual understanding and meaningful engagement between Japan and the United States.

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to advance the Society's mission through high-quality programs in business, culture, education, public policy, and international exchange. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this individual will serve as the organization's chief ambassador, cultivating relationships with corporate and individual members, sponsors, donors, community leaders, and strategic partners while ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the Society.

The ideal candidate combines strategic vision, nonprofit management expertise, fundraising acumen, and exceptional relationship-building skills to lead the organization into its next chapter of impact and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide visionary leadership to ensure the organization's activities, resources, and priorities remain aligned with its mission and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-term strategic plans that advance the Society's impact and sustainability.

Membership Development & Fundraising

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing corporate and individual members, ensuring they receive meaningful value and engagement from their membership.
  • Lead efforts to recruit new members, sponsors, and strategic partners.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

Community Engagement & External Relations

  • Serve as the primary representative and spokesperson for the Society throughout the community and region.
  • Strengthen relationships with corporate members, individual members, sponsors, government entities, educational institutions, and community organizations.

Program & Event Management

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of the Society's programs, events, and international exchange initiatives.
  • Ensure all activities reflect the organization's mission and maintain the high standards expected by members, sponsors, and participants.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Lead the organization's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance, financial management standards, and all applicable regulations.

As Executive Director has an opportunity to build upon a 56-year legacy and help shape the future of one of the region's most respected international organizations.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
