Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Traffic Control Supervisor to lead and coordinate traffic management operations on large-scale Transportation projects, particularly projects such as Oversized Load. This vital role ensures the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians by overseeing the implementation of traffic control plans, managing a team of flaggers and traffic personnel, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations including FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate traffic control activities across multiple construction sites, ensuring smooth flow of vehicles and pedestrian safety.
  • Lead a team of flaggers and traffic personnel, providing clear instructions, training, and oversight to uphold safety standards.
  • Develop, review, and implement traffic control plans in accordance with project specifications and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify proper placement of signage, barriers, cones, and flagging equipment; adjust as needed for evolving site conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations related to work zone safety, heavy equipment operation, and transportation protocols.
  • Oversee the safe operation of heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and other heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery.
  • Coordinate utility locating efforts to prevent damage during construction activities while maintaining high standards for safety and efficiency.
  • Enforce safety protocols during paving operations and heavy lifting activities; document incidents or hazards promptly.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction site supervision with a focus on traffic control or civil infrastructure projects involving highway maintenance or utility work.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, and dump truck handling.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA regulations governing commercial vehicle safety and work zone management.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working on construction projects demonstrating understanding of local safety standards and environmental considerations.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while managing heavy lifting requirements on-site.
  • Construction site experience that includes utility locating procedures and adherence to safety protocols for high-risk activities.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
