2nd Shift Maintenance Technician (Mechanical)

About the Position

Janus Food Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our food manufacturing and packaging facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, with a strong background in PLC systems, electrical controls, and industrial electrical maintenance.

This is a hands-on position working directly with production and packaging equipment. The successful candidate will help keep our facility and equipment operating safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on production and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled machinery and automated systems.
• Diagnose electrical control circuits, motors, sensors, relays, switches, and other industrial electrical components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs in a timely manner.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs and adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area.
• Follow company safety procedures, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Work closely with production personnel and other members of the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls and industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience preferred.
• Experience in a food manufacturing, packaging, or production environment is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance needs, and respond effectively to equipment issues.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on maintenance position in a manufacturing and packaging environment. The employee must be able to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stretch, and work in various positions as required to access equipment.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Work around operating production and packaging equipment.
• Work in areas that may involve varying temperatures, noise, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other maintenance equipment.

Work Environment

• On-site position at Janus Food Group.
• Manufacturing and food packaging facility.
• Must be comfortable working around production machinery and equipment.
• Adherence to all company safety, food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures is required.

Pay: $25.99 - $31.30 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
