Job description: Director of Supply Chain and Logistics

Full-Time Regular Hours:   Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation is commensurate with existing skills and experience.

Salary plus bonus structure based on performance.

Summary

Jantek has been in business for over 30 years and is a manufacturer and installer of high-quality vinyl windows, patio doors, fiberglass, wood and steel entry doors, and storm doors. All operations are in our 75,300 square foot facility in Medford, NJ, and we are seeking candidates for the Director of Supply Chain and Logistics position in our office. The responsibilities for the Director of Supply Chain and Logistics include:

1)   Enterprise Resource Management:

a.   Learn and establish yourself as the Jantek expert with the existing WDQ ERP system.

b.   Quickly gain skill in using the REEB quotation and order entry portal.

2)   Supply Chain:

a.   Take complete responsibility for and manage the sourcing and purchasing of all materials required to manufacture and install Jantek products.

b.   Negotiate and close yearly purchasing agreements with all current and future key suppliers.

c.    Manage and maintain all inventories to support the manufacturing and install operations.

d.   Source new materials and services as required.

e.   Negotiate to get the best possible price, delivery, and terms for all purchased products and services.

f.     Lead yearly auditing function.

3)   Logistics:

a.   Schedule deliveries to dealers as required using Jantek fleet vehicles or third-party haulers as required.

b.   Solicit and schedule backhaul contracts to mitigate cost of shipping return trip.

c.    Manage the day-to-day activities of material handlers and drivers.

d.   Build crates and pack components to support dealer warranty needs.

e.   Manage dumpster removal and deliveries.

f.     Manage service and maintenance of the Jantek vehicle fleet and lift trucks.

g.   Assure operators are certified to operate all Jantek vehicles.

4)   Facilities:

a.   Inspect interior and exterior of facility daily.

b.   Manage daily activities of plant mechanics

c.    Schedule and perform periodic maintenance to all facility and productions systems, tools, and equipment.

5)   Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·        You understand all modern manufacturing processes and can quickly apply and implement the most appropriate systems (Lean, Six Sigma, JIT, Kanban, Scrum, Kaizen, etc.).

·        Working knowledge of common ERP systems.
