JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of The Breakfast Attendant at Fairfield Inn & Suites Ottawa and Hampton Inn & Suites Ottawa is to prepare and oversee the breakfast bar area for delivery of the guests’ complimentary breakfast and customer service in accordance with the hotel’s policies/procedures, and the brand’s standards to achieve and maintain guest satisfaction, product quality, and safety and security. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, and strong customer service skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
- Greet guests, respond to their needs, and handle requests or complaints appropriately.
- Set up, maintain, and clean the breakfast area, ensuring food, utensils, and furniture are properly arranged.
- Bus tables, cleaning, and restock supplies, ensuring compliance with health codes.
- Complete inventory, reorder supplies, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Report suspicious activity and handle lost/found items as per hotel security protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Assist with cleaning, stocking, and other tasks as assigned by management.
- Ensure high standards of presentation in public areas and assist with coordination between teams.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for most of the day.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and occasional climbing or crawling.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills with previous experience in a customer-oriented setting preferred.
