Janicki Industries is a private and family-owned business based in Washington State with a Layton, Utah, facility. The Layton Utah facility specializes in machining the largest most complex structures built from carbon fiber composites and aluminum for the aerospace and space exploration markets. POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is located onsite in Layton, Utah.
The following essential job functions are performed as a Automation Engineer:
- Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes
- Develops and executes high level and detailed project plans, including managing schedules and budgets
- Completes and understands all quality requirements for projects
- Manages project scope and performs risk assessments
- Identify opportunities for automation within software processes
- Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service or business processes
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
- Provides after-hours technical support and troubleshooting for automation systems and equipment supporting production, particularly those associated with assigned projects and initiatives
- Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field is required
- Demonstrated experience with programming and coding for electromechanical systems, automation, and software applications is required
- Experience working with PLCs, drives, embedded computing, electronics, or software development is advantageous
- Experience with SAP ERP software is advantageous
- Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software is advantageous
- Experience working with metal machining, fabrication, or 3-D printing is advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required
- Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Wage range for this role is between $83,000 - $148,000 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
