Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Night Porter to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities during overnight hours. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and security across the premises, providing excellent customer service to staff and visitors, and performing essential custodial and maintenance tasks. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for all who enter during the night shift.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of public areas, restrooms, hallways, and service spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and floor buffing to ensure high standards of sanitation and appearance.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and storage guidelines to prevent accidents or contamination.
• Maintain facilities by performing light repairs, inspecting lighting, locks, alarms, and other security systems; report any issues requiring specialized maintenance.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting staff or visitors with inquiries or directions during overnight hours.
• Execute heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all custodial activities and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools is preferred.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely and following sanitation procedures is essential.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and safety inspections is advantageous.
• Previous porter or facilities support roles demonstrating reliability in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards will be considered favorably.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices is required.
