Role Description
The Licensed Insurance Agent is a full-time, hybrid position based in MN. In this role, the agent meets with business owners, HR leaders, and employees to explain Colonial Life products, assess coverage needs, and present benefit options. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and networking with local businesses, conducting benefits enrollment meetings, providing individualized consultations, and following up with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention. The agent is responsible for managing a sales pipeline, preparing proposals, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role also includes ongoing client service, such as responding to questions, assisting with claims-related issues, and periodically reviewing coverage to recommend updates as needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Insurance Sales to generate new business, conduct presentations, and close voluntary benefits opportunities.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Insurance and Insurance Brokerage to explain products clearly, compare options, and guide organizations in selecting appropriate coverage.
- Candidates should possess foundational understanding of Finance to discuss premiums, payroll deductions, and cost impacts for employers and employees.
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills to support clients, resolve issues, and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships.
- Active state insurance license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe) is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information to groups and individuals in a clear, professional manner.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage time, territory, and sales activities independently.
- Previous experience in benefits, HR, sales, or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
This is a 1099, sales contracted position with compensation, commissions and bonuses paid out weekly.
Must have own mode of transportation and valid driver's license.
