Schedule: Season positions typically run from May to August, M-TH 6:00AM - 4:30PM, OT as needed on Friday
Position Summary
Janco is seeking reliable and motivated individuals for seasonal production positions to support increased production demands during our busy summer season. This is a great opportunity for high school and college students looking to earn extra income and gain hands-on work experience during their break. In this role, you'll work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, assisting with various stages of the production process to ensure products are accurately processed and prepared for shipment according to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in various stages of the manufacturing process, including material handling, part preparation, and basic production support.
- Follow instructions from managers to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Support machine operators and skilled technicians in areas such as laser cutting, saw cutting, forming, machining, welding, powder coating, and assembly.
- Perform basic cleaning, organizing, and maintenance of workstations and equipment.
- Inspect parts for quality and report any issues or inconsistencies.
- Package, label, and move finished products to designated areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Adapt to changing priorities and assist in different departments as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable and punctual, with a willingness to work the full seasonal schedule (May–August).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Good attention to detail to ensure product quality and accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed.
- Willingness to learn and take on a variety of production tasks.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting is a plus but not required.
Work Environment
The work required for this position is performed on the shop floor which is not climate controlled. Safety-toe shoes, protective eye wear, gloves when handling material are required.
