Job Skills / Requirements
- Environmental cleaning
- Perform routine and terminal cleaning of PACU bays, pre/post-op areas, corridors, nurse stations, restrooms, and staff rooms.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, patient stretchers, bedside tables, rails, monitors, IV poles, and shared equipment per hospital protocols.
- Handle biohazard and body-fluid spill cleanups using appropriate disinfectants and PPE.
- Infection prevention and safety
- Follow established infection control standards (e.g., contact/airborne precautions signage, dwell times, isolation room procedures).
- Segregate, label, and transport regulated medical waste and sharps containers in compliance with policy.
- Maintain floor safety (wet-floor signage, cord management) and report hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages.
- Equipment and supplies
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (auto-scrubbers, floor machines, vacuums) safely.
- Mix and use chemicals per manufacturer instructions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Track inventory and request replenishment of cleaning agents and disposables.

Work Schedule:
Janco offers flexible shift options based on building needs and client schedules:
1st Shift (Day Shift): Typically between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
2nd Shift (Evening Shift): Typically between 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
3rd Shift (Overnight Shift): Typically between 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Most janitorial positions are on 2nd or 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday.
