Medical Billing Scanner Receptionist

Position Overview:

Job duties will includes: serving visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately, notifying company personnel of visitor arrival, keeps a sage and clean reception area, contributes to team effort by accomplishing goals set, maintain a professional dress and attitude. Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with an hour for lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm.

Requirements:

Pass an adult basic education exam with a 12th grade level
Basic Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance
Basic knowledge of Workers Compensation, UMWA and Federal Black Lung
Basic Knowledge of posting, billing and coding
Basic Knowledge of claims submission and reimbursement
Ability to read and comprehend the English language
Maintain professional appearance
Take initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding issues with billing claims
Basic knowledge of appeals process
Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee and company information in accordance with HIPAA
Review accounts for aging for collection process
Issue credit adjustments as appropriate and apply client transactions as appropriate
Assist in analysis of outstanding accounts
Participate in department projects as requested.

Hours: 40 hour work week; Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with an hour for lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
