Bartender

Reports To: Bar Manager / General Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drink Preparation: Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the restaurant’s recipes and customer preferences. Prepare seasonally changing signature cocktails or seasonal drink specials, as directed by management.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and offering recommendations on drinks and food pairings. Follow all health, safety, and liquor laws.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage bar stock levels, ensuring that supplies are replenished as needed. Properly store and label all bar inventory.
• Cash Handling: Accurately process payments, handle cash, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Bar Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean, organized, and stocked. This includes cleaning glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
• Company Policies: Adhere to all company guidelines and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, including health standards, conduct, and safety procedures.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with setting up and closing down the bar before and after shifts.
• Maintain superior attendance and punctuality.
• Wear slip-resistant shoes and follow all safety guidelines.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays are preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs., and handle repetitive motions such as shaking and stirring drinks.
• Work Environment: Fast-paced bar environment with moderate to high noise levels. Exposure to alcoholic beverages, glass, heat, cold and cleaning chemicals.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of drink recipes, excellent customer service, multitasking, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Experience: Previous experience as a bartender is required. Knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations is essential.
