Digital Printer/Cutter

Jamil Packaging Corporation is a family-owned business, established in 1973. We are a corrugated sheet plant that converts corrugated sheets into shipping cartons. We manufacture and sell corrugated packaging (industrial and consumer markets) that include digital packaging and displays. Our corporate office is headquartered in Mishawaka, Indiana, with a second site in Gallatin, Tennessee. Digital Printer/CAD Operator: The Digital Printer/CAD Operator plays a key role in creating the primary product that is sold to our customers. You will ensure our products are manufactured exactly to customer specifications. Essential Functions:

Responsible for managing production orders on HP Printers and CAD tables.

Must quickly gain understanding of projects and maintain project workflow.

Must learn & understand basic knowledge of the machines on the production floor within your 60 day introductory period. Including but not limited to our HP Printers, Zund tables, and forklift certification.

Responsible for learning and operating all Print/CAD tables for versatility and department efficiency.

Responsible for managing all consumables and working with supervisor to place an order.

Responsible for effective communication with fellow colleagues during shift transitions, to ensure proper detail, project accuracy and deadlines are maintained/met when shift changes occur.

Responsible for assisting other Printer/CAD operators, during peak periods or in their absence. Be willing to cross-train within any digital department area as deemed necessary by supervisor.

Responsible for following all company policies, procedures, safety & quality guidelines and protocols. Also must effectively understand, learn, and follow all department and position Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP's )

Responsible for performing other duties, as assigned/needed by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Must be willing to learn and become proficient with all our Print/CAD tables (within your 60-day introductory period)
· Must be willing to work OT when needed. Note: OT is not guaranteed; however, is necessary in peak times or during other employee absences.
· Must be a team player, ready and willing to assist where and when needed at a moment’s notice
· Must be able to multitask to handle our fast-paced environment.
· Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills when dealing with internal and external customers. Many times, step-by-step detailed communication on projects and processes are necessary,
· Must be observant to quickly identify any quality issues with print projects to minimize financial hardship to the company and ensuring efficiency in completing customer projects timely.
· Must possess excellent organizational skills to frequently switch between tasks with exceptional attention to detail.
· Must possess time management skills to meet project and department deadlines.

* Willing to get forklift certification

*Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements :

Prolonged standing with ability to walk, sit, kneel, grip, carry, balance, push, pull, reach, grab and write. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard as well as clearly read and perform visual equipment inspections and quality issues on print projects.

Must have the ability and be willing to lift 50 lbs at times.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required, manufacturing experience a plus.
· Experience with HP Printers, Zund, or Kongsberg tables not required, but a plus. At least one year of CAD experience preferred.
· Basic experience with Windows & MS Office programs required.

* Experience with Forklift Driving preferred but not required - will train.
