Jamestown Salish Seasons (JSS) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 16-bed voluntary residential treatment facility providing 24/7/365 crisis stabilization and inpatient behavioral health services. This role offers meaningful, hands-on clinical work with individuals experiencing acute mental and behavioral health crises in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment focused on recovery, dignity, and healing.

Schedule
This role follows a Fixed Panama 12s schedule, designed to maximize time off while maintaining full-time hours:

Rotation: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off

One week: 4 shifts (48 hours)

Next week: 3 shifts (36 hours)

Built-in overtime with full-time status maintained

Approximate structure allows staff to work about half the days of the year

Two shift options available:

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Hiring needs: 2 RNs for days and 2 RNs for nights

$5.00/hour differential for all overnight hours worked
Essential Functions
Direct Patient Care and Crisis Stabilization
-
Provide direct nursing care for individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises in a voluntary treatment setting
-
Conduct nursing assessments including physical health screening, mental status evaluation, and ongoing monitoring

Observe and report changes in patient condition to clinical staff
-
Support individualized treatment planning with the interdisciplinary team
-
Use trauma-informed care and approved de-escalation techniques
-
Monitor patient safety, behavior, and physical health within scope of practice
Medication Management
-
Administer medications per provider orders, nursing standards, and facility protocols
-
Ensure safe medication practices including storage, preparation, administration, documentation, and disposal
-
Monitor and document medication effectiveness and side effects
-
Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation
-
Support medication safety and error prevention practices
Documentation and Compliance
-
Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record

Ensure compliance with facility standards and regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2

Participate in audits, reviews, and quality improvement activities
Care Coordination and Collaboration

Collaborate with Psychiatric Medical Director, Nursing Manager, providers, and interdisciplinary team

Communicate patient updates and clinical observations clearly and effectively

Participate in shift hand-offs and treatment planning
-
Support coordination with external providers as appropriate
Cultural Competence

Provide culturally responsive care that respects patient traditions and lived experiences

Support integration of Tribal culture and healing practices when appropriate

Administrative Duties

Requirements
-
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with at least 1 year of experience
-
Active, unrestricted Washington State RN license
-
BLS (CPR) certification required or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

Knowledge of behavioral health crisis intervention and stabilization practices

Understanding of nursing scope of practice and regulatory standards

Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 compliance

Strong communication and documentation skills

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Proficiency with electronic health records

Valid driver’s license (if local travel is required)

Successful completion of criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications

BSN preferred
-
2 years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, crisis stabilization, residential treatment, emergency department, or similar acute care setting

Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) preferred

Experience in tribal health or familiarity with American Indian/Alaska Native health services preferred
