POSITION/LEVEL: Parking Ambassador  – Traffic Director                                                                                           FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPT/OFFICE: Ancillary Revenue, Parking                                                                                                                                         DATE: March 2026 

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY:


The Parking Enforcement Associate – Traffic Director plays a key role in supporting Jamestown’s commitment to Integrity, Responsibility, and Excellence by ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming parking experience for all tenants, visitors, and community members. This position is responsible for traffic direction and monitoring traffic patterns while proactively adjusting to limit unsafe conditions and continuing the ease and flow of the parking operation. Working both independently and as part of a collaborative operations team. 

Schedule: WEEKEND AVAILABILITY (Friday - Monday) 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of geography of the area they are enforcing
  • Be able to exercise sound independent judgement and maintain a high level of customer service
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to use a handheld computer
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle 
  • Ability to understand and apply parking regulations
  • Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner 
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire
  • Language skills: Ability to read, write and interpret the English language
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors, and other employees of the organization 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment; Able to deal with change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Ability to use clock (standard/miliary time), calculator or credit card machine to handle transactions
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant and mannerly demeanor when speaking on the telephone and with the public 
  • Ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints 
  • Must be proactive with strong personal drive and proven customer service skills and must be willing to lead by example. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic in high-volume areas to ensure safe, efficient flow throughout the property. 
  • Manage ingress and egress points, including entrances, exits, and loading zones, to minimize congestion and maintain order. 
  • Coordinate with security, valet, and operations team to support real-time traffic control during peak hours, events and activations. 
  • Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and parking policies. 
  • Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance with a computerized handheld computer or manual tickets. Impound, boot, or relocate vehicles as directed. 
  • This position requires the ability to work alone and therefore must exercise proper judgement, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with people. 
  • Assist maintenance staff with duties related to parking program and facility upkeep and maintenance. This includes but is not limited to inspecting and assessing lots for maintenance issues, painting, cleaning, and repairing parking meters and pay and display machines, installing signs, signposts, and meter posts. 
  • Maintain high visibility and situational awareness to quickly respond to changing conditions or incidents. 
  • Assist in the collection and security of all monies received through parking citation, multi-parking space, TEZ technology and any other means of collecting parking revenues and fees. 
  • Assist event staff with activities related to parking for events. This includes but is not limited to setting up for events, traffic control, receipt of payment for parking, and lot usage control. 
  • Assist office staff with activities related to permit sales during peak seasons. This includes but is not limited to data entry, collating mailings, providing frontline customer service. 
  • Other related duties as assigned. 
  • Please note that Enforcement Officers are not sworn police officers and have no arresting authority. 

 

 

IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:


Physical Requirements: 

  • Carrying, lifting, pulling or pushing items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
  • Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling 


License Requirement: 


The individual will only be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business. 


Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on the location’s hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.
