Grain Operations Worker

James Valley Grain is seeking a motivated person to join our grain operations team. This role will primarily be responsible for the safe handling and management of grain and other duties as assigned by the grain operations manager or elevator manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Unloading of incoming customer and company trucks

· Loading of outgoing trucks and railcars

· Guide trucks into loading or unloading positions

· Maintaining and cleaning of elevator facility

· Operating/monitoring equipment and operation control systems

· Taking grain samples when needed

· Inspecting grounds, buildings, and equipment utilized by the facility to perform light maintenance and repair work

· Interacting with customers

· Communicate with your coworkers and operations manager

· Assist in cleaning grain bins

· Follows safety regulations, requirements, policies/procedures, including OSHA regulations.

· Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

· Ability to pass a mandatory drug test is essential

· Physical duties such as lifting to 50 lbs., kneeling and climbing

· Able to occasionally be in confined spaces

· Must be able to climb ladders and be in high places (4 feet and above)

· Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays or different shifts for harvest season and/or train loading

· Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noises, etc.
