General Description:
The Lunch Aide supports the school nutrition program by supervising students during lunch periods, assisting with meal distribution, and ensuring a safe and clean dining environment. This role involves monitoring student behavior, maintaining cleanliness in lunch areas, and collaborating with staff to create a positive and organized mealtime experience.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of lunch periods
- Assist in the delivery of lunches
- Assure the safety of students during lunch periods both inside and outside of the school building
- Assist in the clean up of the lunch areas at the end of lunch periods
- Ensure the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas during and between lunch periods.
- To sweep under tables between lunches.
- To assist students with cleaning up spills on tables and floors.
- To look for and clean spills around garbage cans and other areas that can create slip hazards.
- Communicate with custodial staff for larger spills.
- Replace trash cans, or provide additional supplies.
- Other duties as assigned by the building department
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Experience working with children is required
- Successful candidates must be organized and patient
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
