James River Media, LLC (JRM) is considering applications for a Relationship Manager working in outside sales. Our ideal candidate should possess an extremely good work ethic, be a self starter, be highly organized with great communication skills and the ability to build and maintain great relationships with decision makers at local businesses in the Greater Roanoke area.
This is a full-time position offering comprehensive medical, dental, and retirement benefits. Compensation includes a competitive combination of salary, commission, and bonuses that reflects current market rates. To help you get started, we’ll provide you with an established client list.
The ideal candidate will have a vision for the future and be an integral part of a growing locally owned and operated media company, which currently includes in its portfolio WLNI Radio, HOME magazine, JRM Digital and a creative services division.
Duties
- Excel at proactively prospecting local businesses that would benefit from advertising on our various platforms or utilizing our creative services
- Building and maintaining relationships with decision makers at local businesses
- Working with clients to develop advertising plans and strategies
- Creatively customize advertising and marketing plans to meet each client’s objectives
- Prepare and present proposals to clients and prospective clients
- Attend meetings to ensure content, tactical plans and image are consistent with overall client strategy
- Create and maximize revenue opportunities
Skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
- Ability to think outside the box to create win/win relationships for clients and JRM
- Strong negotiation, time management and organization skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other basic computer programs
- Strong presentation skills to large and small groups
- Experience as an account manager or sales representative, in advertising, marketing or media is preferred
- Creative and strategic problem solver
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience with CRM software preferred
Qualifications
- 5 years sales experience preferred
