Welder Fabricator Technician

The Welder Fabricator/Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and fabricating metal structures using various welding techniques. This position involves working both in a maintenance shop and in the field, requiring proficiency in reading detailed blueprints and adhering to strict safety standards. The technician will employ diverse welding processes and collaborate closely with team members to ensure quality and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-cored arc welding processes
• Fabricate and assemble metal components according to detailed blueprints
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
• Maintain welding equipment and tools for optimal performance
• Conduct line boring and related mechanical work as required
• Work in both maintenance shop and field environments
• Follow company-specific safety policies, participate in regular safety training, and comply with OSHA regulations
• Occasional travel to job sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years experience in welding fabrication
• Technical certification in welding or fabrication
• Welding certification such as AWS
• Proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
• Blueprint interpretation skills
• Experience in metal fabrication and line boring
• High attention to detail and team collaboration skills
• Must be able to be insured to drive and operate a company vehicle for field service calls (valid driver's license required)
