This is a full-time, on-site role for a Middle School Physical Education Teacher based in Lynchburg, VA. The teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging physical education lessons for middle school students, promoting fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, organizing activities and sports, instructing students in proper techniques and rules, and monitoring their progress. Additionally, the teacher will ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment while fostering students’ physical and social development.
- Strong knowledge of physical education principles, sports, and fitness practices
- Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and activity organization
- Excellent communication, leadership, and classroom management skills
- Experience in coaching or facilitating team sports
- Ability to create an inclusive and encouraging environment for students
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field
- Teaching licensure or certification appropriate for middle school education (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience teaching middle school students or working with youth in athletic settings is a plus
