What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Counter Salesperson position at James R. Rosencrantz & Sons, Inc?
Purpose:
Responsible for selling, receiving, and processing of parts and accessories. In addition performs in-store customer service, overall organizational promotion, and stocking duties.
Responsibilities:
o Promotes and upsells products and/or services to exceed customer expectations
o Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required
o Answers telephone calls promptly and responds to messages within 2 hours
o Handles customers as efficiently as possible to reduce customer wait time
o Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays
o Verifies receipt of shipments and assists with placing Emergency and Stock Orders in their proper inventory locations
o Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly and ensures assigned counter area and parts space is clean, orderly and customer appealing at all times
o Cash up and balance draw at the end of business each day and is responsible for any shortages
o Routinely make outgoing calls to notify customers of availability of ordered parts and records call results with date and time
o Promptly notifies parts management of any shortages and customer satisfaction issues
o Participate in physical inventory process as needed
o Assists in maintaining all departmental tools and equipment are in good working order
o Participates in training to improve knowledge and performance as requested
o May be assigned special projects by management as required
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o Basic data entry/keyboarding skills
o Good customer service and phone skills
o Basic parts and machinery knowledge
o Ability to use the John Deere Parts Catalog computer application
o Ability to work in a team environment
o Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs.
o High School diploma or equivalent experience
o Fork lift license preferred (but not required)
