We are seeking a new Director of Risk Management to join our team. As Director of Risk Management you will protect company assets, personnel, and profitability by developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety, legal, and financial risk strategies. We are also looking for someone who can effectively manage the Safety and Insurance, mitigate project-specific risks, ensure OSHA compliance and oversee subcontractor prequalification. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
As a member of the McHugh Team, you will work with the operations group part of the risk and safety department and report to the Chief Financial Officer.

As the Director of Risk Management, you will be responsible for:
- Safety & Loss Prevention: Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to ensure a safe work environment. Conducts, reviews, and analyzes safety audits and incident reports to identify trends.
- Insurance & Claims Management: Procure and administer all insurance policies and programs, including general liability, excess, workers compensation, property, builders risk, pollution & professional, and subcontractor default insurance. Collaborate with legal counsel to settle high-value claims.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction projects, including financial, operational, and regulatory risk.
- Subcontractor Management: Establish standards for subcontractor prequalification and manage certificates of insurance (COI)
- Strategy & Reporting: Develop risk management strategies and communicate risks to the senior leadership and executive teams
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4-year degree in Risk Management preferred or equivalent in experience
- plus minimum 8 years experience in Risk Management
- Superior analytical skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Problem solving skills
- Insurance Producers License preferred.
