Job Summary:
A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for conducting machine work as indicated on job blueprints or manufacturer specification manuals with minimal to no supervision. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Weekends and overtime will be assigned as needed.

What you'll do:
- Read, interpret, and work from job blueprints or manufacturer specification manuals.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Dismantle, clean, repair, and re-assemble light and heavy machinery and equipment.
- Operate the equipment assigned to repair to check for proper operation and/or adjustment.
- Properly diagnose and troubleshoot any equipment worked on.
- Align machinery on proper foundations and work to very close specifications.
- Compose and document material bills for jobs assigned.
- Write routine reports and correspondence as well as speak effectively to customers and employees.
What you'll need:
- Valid driver's license.
- Prior work history as a diesel mechanic, shipyard experience preferred.
- Knowledge of proper pressure flows of fluids, including but not limited to the following: oil, hydraulic, water, etc.
