General Information
The Breeze is hiring a Breeze TV Floor Director. The student selected for this
position will help lead a broadcast news show that airs live.
Position begins April 1, with training during the weeks immediately after spring
break. Must be able to be back on campus two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall
semester.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepares the set, including checking that mics and IFBs are ready for broadcast, and assists with camera blocking and placement
- Communicates with talent, guests, and the studio crew, providing timing cues, instructions, and directions
- Coordinates the movement of people and equipment in and out of the studio
- Troubleshot technical issues, such as audio and lighting, and change batteries
- Manages the audience and any others inside the studio not part of the crew, including seating and cuing them
- Anticipates potential issues and solves problems promptly
- Documents the studio's technical and scenic set-up for each production (main example being the election show).
- Knowledge of what a newscast should look like

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
