POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Assistant position requires a professional, organized individual with the ability to take ownership of new projects. This role requires management of multiple projectssimultaneously, accuracy in daily work, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-pacedenvironment. The position requires excellent Excel skills along with familiarity with ADP Workforce. The HR Assistant will be responsible for implementing our new on-line benefits enrollment platform through ADP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trainings
- Completes and maintains all required State mandated trainings such as, Universal Precautions, CPR / First Aid, Signs & Symptoms of Illness & Injury and Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals (BHDDH) CORE trainings within 90 days of employment;
- Attends meetings and training sessions as required by BHDDH and JLMC;
Daily Programing
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Be thoroughly familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures as
- outlined in the Policy Manual.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives
- Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, etc.) and take minutes
- Assist with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll in an accurate and timely fashion in ADP
- Answer employee payroll queries via phone, email and in-person
- Process verification of I-9 documentation
- Maintain complete confidentiality with all payroll and personnel information.
- Communicate any employee issues with HR Manager to determine corrective action

- Acts as a representative for James L. Maher Center in a professional manner when required, to families, service coordinators, State officials, community partners, local businesses, and employers;

Job Requirements:
- 2 years HR experience or specific related education
- Knowledge in payroll regulations, experience processing payroll
- Excellent analytical skills that are detailed and accurate
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to work well with co-workers and in a team environment
- Record of dependability and good attendance
- Excellent customer service skills
- Minimum of Intermediate computer skills in Word programs
- Excellent Excel Skills
Preferred Qualifications (including but not limited to ):
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management, or commensurate combination of experience (4-7 years) and education
