School Clerk – Charter School
DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education perform a variety of clerical functions pertaining to pupil enrollment, attendance and records management, process documents and materials (e.g. purchase orders, payroll records, substitute requests, work orders, agendas, student health referrals, mail, etc) for the purpose of disseminating information, in both Spanish and English, to appropriate parties and to do other related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Perform specialized and responsible clerical duties in the office.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Draft various forms and notices for IEP meetings
- communicate with parents about appointments and meetings
- Interact effectively with Students with Disabilities
- Use Welligent software to create Special Ed notices
- Maintain organization of Special Education records and send to parents and other authorized persons.
- Maintain confidential student files in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Translate IEP meetings for Spanish speakers.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish absolutely essential
- Experience working in public school Special Education.
- Effective conflict resolution and public relations skills
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Must be able to stand, sit, repetitively use fingers, use both hands simultaneously, lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
