Its services are provided entirely free of charge, are confidential, and cater to both English and Spanish-speaking clients. The James House is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive community and is committed to addressing violence and building awareness through education and empowerment programs.
This is a full-time on-site role located in Prince George, VA, for the position of Director of Advancement. The Director of Advancement will oversee and execute strategies for fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement to advance the mission of the James House. Key responsibilities include managing planned giving and annual campaigns, fostering alumni relations, cultivating philanthropic opportunities, and maintaining relationships with donors through stewardship efforts. The role requires active collaboration with staff, stakeholders, and the community to ensure sustainable growth and development for the organization.
- Proven experience in Planned Giving and Annual Giving initiatives
- Strong background in Alumni Relations and Philanthropy practices
- Expertise in donor Stewardship and relationship management
- Exemplary project management, strategic planning, and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication, networking, and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising and an understanding of nonprofit operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred
- Ability to work on-site in Prince George, VA with occasional travel as needed
