About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team, focusing on land development projects across commercial, industrial, retail, education, municipal, and infrastructure sectors.
What You'll Do
This is not an exhaustive list, but in this role, you can expect to:
- Analyze and interpret survey reports, plats, maps, construction drawings, aerial imagery, and other topographic or geotechnical data to support site and infrastructure design.
- Plan and design transportation, utility, and hydraulic systems (streets, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage facilities) in accordance with applicable municipal, state, and federal standards using industry-standard design software.
- Develop civil site designs for land development projects, including grading, stormwater management, parking lots, sidewalks, roadways, and utility layouts.
- Prepare site grading and utility plans, perform hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, and produce construction documents and supporting calculations for permitting and approvals with local jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with project managers, municipal staff, review agencies, subconsultants, and clients to track project status and prepare technical reports, permitting packages, and other project documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 4–6 years of experience designing civil projects across commercial, industrial, retail, education, municipal, roadway, and utility sectors
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- PE Exam passed, or eligible to complete within the next 12 months
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — building strong connections is a critical part of how we work
Physical Demands
This position is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting, though occasional walking and lifting up to 25 lbs may be required. Occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead may also occur, along with extensive daily computer use.
Position Type & Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position with an expectation of 40 hours per week. We offer flexible scheduling options, including five 8-hour days or four 9-hour days with a half-day on Friday morning. While start and end times can be adjusted, employees are expected to maintain a consistent schedule that covers core business hours of 9 am–4 pm. Overtime is not required but may occasionally be requested to meet client needs.
