REPORTING TO: Sr. Project Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily an office environment with work periodically performed in the fabrication/machine shop and outdoor testing areas. Depending on the project, there may be occasional travel to customer job sites. JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday

REPORTING TO: Sr. Project Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and develop design concepts into working engineering solutions.
- Produce manufacturing detail drawings incorporating limits and fits, welding symbols, geometric tolerances and surface finish.
- Provide full engineering calculations to support designs.
- Produce technical reports and documents.
- Provide technical files in conjunction with the contract and quality program requirements.
- Specify components/systems based on calculations and relevant practical experience.
- Work as part of a design team and interact with other engineering disciplines.
- Support project engineering leads and project managers with technical back up.
- Enforce working to processes and procedures.
- Assist business development with quotations for new business.
- Drive down design times with cost saving innovations.
- Manage CAD data and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering and design experience.
- Nuclear or high hazardous remote special purpose machinery design experience a plus.
- Conversant with nuclear design procedures.
- Experience with calculations (FEA, stress/fatigue/vibration analysis) preferred.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Ability to operate both 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D design software packages (Inventor and Vault system/SolidWorks).
- Working knowledge of current design/safety legislation.
