Farmers' Market/Event Staff

James Creek Cider House is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and outgoing individual to join our team as part-time Market & Event Staff.

This is not your typical part-time job or a position where every shift looks the same. Our Market & Event Staff take James Creek beyond the tasting room, representing our cider house at farmers’ markets, festivals, community events, tap events, and other off-site locations throughout the area.

Some days may start early. Some events may run into the evening. You'll load and unload, set up and break down, sell cider, interact with customers, talk about our products, and work independently while representing James Creek in the community.

We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to work hard and have fun at the same time.

What You’ll Do

• Represent James Creek Cider House professionally and enthusiastically at off-site markets and events
• Transport cider, event supplies, marketing materials, and equipment to and from events
• Set up and break down tents, tables, signage, displays, coolers, and other event equipment
• Sell packaged cider and/or serve cider as permitted for the event
• Operate our point-of-sale system and accurately process transactions
• Maintain accurate beginning and ending product inventory
• Talk with customers about James Creek ciders, seasonal releases, orchard fruit, upcoming events, and the cider house
• Offer samples when appropriate and help customers choose products based on their preferences
• Promote bottle quantity discounts, featured products, and other current promotions
• Maintain an organized, clean, welcoming booth throughout the event
• Properly pack and return inventory, equipment, cash materials, and event supplies
• Communicate inventory discrepancies, damaged products, opened sample bottles, or other issues
• Work independently and troubleshoot routine event needs when necessary
• Serve as a positive representative of James Creek Cider House while interacting with customers, vendors, event organizers, and community partners

Dependability is extremely important for this position. When James Creek commits to attending an event, we need to know the person scheduled to represent us will be there and ready to work.

The ideal candidate:

• Is reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Has a valid driver's license
• Is comfortable driving to off-site markets and events
• Is willing and able to perform the physical work involved with event setup and breakdown
• Is friendly, personable, and comfortable starting conversations with customers
• Can confidently work independently without constant supervision
• Takes initiative and can recognize what needs to be done
• Is comfortable handling money and using a point-of-sale system
• Pays attention to inventory and other important details
• Is willing to learn about craft cider, James Creek Orchards, our products, and our story
• Understands the importance of providing excellent customer service
• Can maintain a positive attitude during busy, long, or occasionally challenging event days
• Is comfortable working outdoors in varying seasonal conditions
• Knows how to work hard while still having fun

Previous farmers’ market, festival, hospitality, bartending, retail, sales, or event experience is helpful but not required. We are happy to teach someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and has the right attitude.

Schedule & Availability

This is a part-time position with a flexible and event-driven schedule. Hours will vary depending on our market and event calendar.

Applicants should be available for:

• Weekends
• Evenings
• Some early mornings
• Occasional weekday events
• Busier seasonal periods and special events

Fall is one of our busiest seasons, so strong availability during our fall event schedule is especially valuable.

Physical Requirements

Because this is an event-based position, applicants must be comfortable with the physical requirements of loading, unloading, setting up, and breaking down events. This may include moving cases of cider, tables, tents, coolers, bins, and other event equipment; standing for extended periods; and working outdoors.

About James Creek Cider House

James Creek Cider House is a craft cidery located alongside James Creek Orchards in Cameron, North Carolina. In addition to our tasting room, we participate in farmers’ markets, festivals, community events, and other off-site events throughout the region.

Our Market & Event Staff are often the first interaction someone has with James Creek, making this an important customer-facing role. We're looking for someone who will take pride in representing our cider house, introducing new customers to our products, and building relationships with the communities we serve.

Job Type: Part-time
Work Location: On the road / multiple event locations, with James Creek Cider House in Cameron, NC as the home location
Schedule: Primarily weekends and evenings; occasional early mornings and weekdays
