What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Estimator position at James Collins Ford?
Responsibilities:
- Assess and estimate the cost of repairs for damaged vehicles in the body shop
- Collaborate with customers, insurance companies, and technicians to ensure accurate and timely estimates
- Review vehicle damage reports and inspect vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed
- Provide detailed estimates for parts, labor, and materials required for repairs
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicle repairs and any additional work needed
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Body Shop Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive industry
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and procedures
- Familiarity with dealership operations and customer service standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Must have a valid and clean driving record
- Proficient in using CCC software for estimating repairs and generating reports
Preferred Skills:
- Automotive service experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including oil changes and shocks/struts replacement
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
