What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at JAMES BARRY-ROBINSON INSTITUTE?
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to our team.
As a Maintenance Technician you would be responsible for repairing and maintaining the buildings, grounds, and equipment of the Barry Robinson Center as directed. The ideal candidate has experience with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry as well as the capability to demonstrate use of various power tools. Our Maintenance Department assists with recording information including safety notes, maintenance logs, and inspections reports.
The Barry Robinson Center is a beautiful campus located in Norfolk, Virginia that provides mental and behavioral health to military-connected youth. As a facility, we prioritize the safety of our residents and therefore have a background check process that complies with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Pay Range: $16.00 -$18.00, full-time
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent (may be waiver depending upon years of experience)
- Demonstrated skill in the general maintenance
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and follow directions.
- Basic typing and computer skills preferred
- Ability to respond to situations if/when on-call
- Ability to lift/push a minimum of 50 pounds including up a ladder
- Must pass/clear background check process (DBHDS)
