The Department of Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center provides high-quality, compassionate care through a variety of services, including Inpatient Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency (CPEP), Outpatient Behavioral Health, Mobile Crisis, and Chemical Dependency Treatment.
We are currently seeking dedicated, patient-focused Registered Nurses to join our Inpatient Psychiatric Night Shift Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Behavioral Health Nurses and new graduates with a passion for mental health nursing.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (28-bed adult unit)
Night Shift (7:00PM – 7:30AM)
Starting Salary: $53.14/hour Night Shift Differentials Benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and continuous patient monitoring
- Administering medications and tracking therapeutic effectiveness.
- Facilitating crisis interventions and de-escalation.
- Collaborating with psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists on treatment planning.
- Educating patients on coping strategies, medications, and recovery planning.
- Ensuring patient safety and maintaining a supportive therapeutic environment.
- Assisting in discharge planning and coordination of care post-hospitalization
