F/T DAY & F/T NIGHT 12/HR SHIFTS
At Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, our Intensive Care Units are staffed by physicians, nurses, and other specialists trained in critical care and how to treat critically ill patients with advanced non-invasive and invasive procedures. Our Critical Care Unit staff provide around-the-clock high-quality care to patients to ensure appropriate and consistent care. Patients and their families can expect to receive sensitive, patient-centered medical care from our expert team of physicians and nursing staff.
We are currently seeking experienced RNs for immediate full time flex day and night shift opportunities in our IMCU. Our ideal candidate will have 1-2 years current/recent Critical Care or IMCU experience. Must be able to handle the challenges of a busy fast-paced environment, be quick-thinking, with strong assessment skills, and have the ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure.
DUTIES
- Responsible for the total care and treatment of patients with acute pulmonary, medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions.
- Performing Airway Management
Providing Ventilator support for patients unable to breathe on their own. - Inserting and maintaining ventral IV lines and chest tubes.
- Stabilizing and titrating medicated IV infusions.
- Utilizing Cardiac telemetry to monitor patient heart function.
- Documenting detailed records of patient vital signs and treatment responses.
- Recommending treatment options to attending physician
