Job Title : Engineer
Division : JB & A
Location : Folsom, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM
What You Will Do
We are currently seeking an experienced, customer-focused, hands-on candidate to join our team as a Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Building Server, Storage and Networks to the required specification based on our solution proposal.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for all systems built and supplied.
- Visit customer sites to rack, cable and integrate our systems.
- Provide feedback to product management and development teams to improve the quality of the product in line with customer requirements and our own efficiency needs.
- Provide feedback to Project Managers to make scheduled delivery more consistent.
- Continually work with Project Managers and the Build Manager to streamline and improve delivery.
- Familiarity with Linux administration and configuration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Understanding of server & storage technology.
- Ability to build and debug typical server and storage hardware.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn about new products and technologies.
- Experience with racking and cabling IT equipment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes with multiple customer engagements at once.
- Positive disposition and solution-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers and provide clear status updates.
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills.
- Any experience with configuration management such as Salt, Ansible, etc.
- Basic Docker experience.
- Scripting knowledge – Perl, python, bash, ksh, and/or PowerShell, etc.
- Networking experience, including switch configuration.
- Experience of both Block and File Storage.
