Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality management initiatives across manufacturing operations. Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety and quality assurance programs aligned with industry standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 9001, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA regulations.
- Lead regular quality audits across manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quality control inspections and testing procedures to verify product integrity, safety, and consistency throughout the production process.
- Manage the documentation of quality systems, audit reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including production, engineering, supply chain, and regulatory affairs—to address quality issues promptly and effectively.
- Conduct root cause analysis for product deviations or safety concerns; implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks.
- Lead training sessions on food safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory updates for staff at all levels.
- Monitor compliance with ISO 13485 (medical device quality management systems where applicable), FDA regulations, HACCP principles, CGMP guidelines, and other relevant standards.
- Coordinate external audits by regulatory agencies or certification bodies; prepare necessary documentation to facilitate successful inspections.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing quality data trends and implementing innovative solutions to enhance product safety and quality performance.
Experience
- Proven experience in food safety management within manufacturing environments; familiarity with food industry regulations such as FDA requirements is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of ISO 13485 (medical devices) is a plus if applicable; otherwise strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards for quality management systems is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in HACCP planning, implementation, and validation processes.
- Hands-on experience conducting internal and external quality audits; ability to lead audit teams confidently.
- Strong background in quality control inspection techniques, laboratory testing procedures, and analysis skills.
- Experience managing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
- Effective communication skills to train staff, report findings clearly, and collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
