Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Prepare treatment rooms for patients by ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are ready
- Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients and ensure they understand proper oral care techniques
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- Current certification in dental assisting preferred
- Proficiency in using dental software systems, such as Dentrix, for scheduling and record keeping
- Knowledge of dental coding for insurance billing purposes
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with patients and staff members
Skills:
- Proficient in using dental software systems, such as Dentrix, for scheduling and record keeping
- Knowledge of dental coding
- Experience assisting dentists during various procedures, dental charting, and sterilization.
- Familiarity with taking and developing dental X-rays
Hourly pay will depend on previous experience
