Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Upholsterer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring, repairing, and upholstering furniture using a variety of fabrics, tools, and techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience with both traditional and modern upholstery methods and take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:- Remove old upholstery, fabric, and padding from furniture frames
- Measure and cut fabric or leather to fit furniture dimensions
- Attach padding, springs, webbing, and fabric using hand tools, adhesives, and sewing machines
- Repair and refinish wooden frames as needed
- Read work orders and follow client specifications for design, material, and finish
- Inspect completed pieces for quality assurance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate with team members or clients as needed regarding project timelines and special requests
- Proven experience as a furniture upholsterer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of upholstery techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to measure, cut, and sew accurately
- Familiarity with fabric types and furniture construction
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy furniture
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
