Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, highlighting specials and upselling opportunities
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, wine pairings, and special dietary needs to enhance guest satisfaction
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability for all sales
- Assist with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures in accordance with health regulations
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; OpenTable experience is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and order calculations
- Experience in serving or host/hostess roles within the food industry is highly desirable
