Entry Writer & Air Import Coordinator

Jagro is currently looking for an Entry Writer and Air Import Coordinator. This is a hybrid position, requiring the candidate to work in the office every Monday and one additional day each week, with the remaining days worked remotely.

Job purpose:

The Customs Entry Writer & Air Import Coordinator prepares and processes entries, reviews details and verifies compliance data related calculations and duty policies. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring the submission of additional information pertaining to cargo to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before it is brought into the U.S. The role requires proficiency in classification skills as well as an ability to successfully interact with importers and manage post entry work.

Responsibilities:

Experience with and knowledge of Import entry procedures rules and regulations (Air/Ocean)

• Prepare and input entry data into ACE for cargo releases and entry summary
• Assemble commercial invoices, packing lists, and Bills of Lading for entry filing
• Verify HTS classification, country of origin, and declared value for entry filing
• Prepare documentation to support PGA holds — FDA, USDA APHIS, EPA, FCC — as needed
• CF28/CF29 Requests for information
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
• Must be detailed oriented
• Solid knowledge of air and ocean ports
• Strong PC Skills
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain recordkeeping as required by US Customs rules and regulations
• Impeccable customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required experience:

• Working with Customs House Brokerage: minimum 10 years
• Entry Processing via ACE: minimum 10 years
• Excellent understanding of HTS classification and CBP entry types
• High attention to detail and comfort working against fixed filing deadlines
• International Freight Forwarding knowledge
• Domestic Freight Forwarding knowledge
