Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting candies, chocolates, and other confections with enthusiasm and expert advice
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demos to showcase new or popular items, encouraging upselling to maximize sales opportunities
- Restock shelves regularly, ensuring attractive merchandising displays that entice customers and highlight featured products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment, including stocking shelves and cleaning work areas
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about products, store policies, and promotions with clear communication and friendly phone etiquette
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and ordering supplies to keep the store well-stocked and inviting
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or specialty food shops
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings and customer interactions
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math ensures smooth transactions
- Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and promote products effectively
- Experience conducting product demos or upselling techniques enhances sales performance
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or confectionery merchandising is advantageous for understanding store flow and customer preferences
