Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator

Job Summary

• Performs all duties, which are related and pertain to the processing of material, objects, or articles to be cleaned, plated or dried both before and after the processing of material, objects or articles. This includes the movement of materials, supplies and equipment, such as racks, trays, baskets, barrels, and other types of containers to and from production work areas. It also includes the loading and unloading of containers holding work to be processed, storing and transporting racks and fixtures to working areas and repair department, supplying process workers with materials and objects to be processed and other similar duties necessary to facilitate the production process.
• Performs all other similar or related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Must complete Orientation process administered by the temporary agencies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Is aware and follows all company policies, safety procedures, and the employee handbook.
• Transport materials and objects to be processed to and from work processing areas.
• Transport to process area various types of equipment, such as hooks, racks, trays, containers, barrels, etc., needed to process materials efficiently.
• Load and unload containers holding work to be processed. Move processed work from process working areas after it is processed.
• Operate, tend, load and unload centrifugal spiral drying machines, and heating oven.
• Perform any and all duties of a miscellaneous labor process type, which are essential for making material ready for processing and assisting after processing to facilitate production.
• Responsible for cleanliness and good housekeeping in all areas worked in to perform duties.
• Responsible for proper care and efficient use of all materials, objects and equipment used in the performance of these duties.
• Report to supervisor for instruction, direction, and supervision.
• Responsible for proper care and handling of customer materials and containers, during and after processing.
• Perform sufficient work so as to permit production workers to meet and maintain specified production schedules in various departments.
• Ask questions when unsure of task.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Tolerance for bending, standing, and walking for long periods. 20-20 vision with or without prescribed eyeglasses, speaking ability, and hearing accuracy. Manual dexterity. Must be able to move or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. Able to tolerate working on the shop floor all day.
