Job Summary

We design and build flight-worthy aircraft structures faster than anybody else. We are seeking skilled Composite Layup Technicians to join our team and help manufacture next-generation aircraft structures. This role is focused on the fabrication of high-quality carbon fiber composite parts, including precision pre-preg layup, vacuum bagging, curing, demolding, trimming, and finishing. Success in this role requires craftsmanship, attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to producing aerospace-quality components in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Multiple positions are available, from entry level to master composite technician.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision carbon fiber composite pre-preg layup of aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Prepare molds and tooling, apply release agents, and stage materials for composite fabrication
  • Vacuum bag composite assemblies and prepare parts for autoclave or oven cure cycles
  • Demold cured composite parts while maintaining part integrity and tooling condition
  • Trim, cut, sand, drill, and finish cured composite parts to engineering specifications using hand tools, power tools, and trimming fixtures
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, laminate quality, and cosmetic standards
  • Document manufacturing activities and inspection results in accordance with aerospace quality requirements
  • Identify, document, and assist in resolving non-conformances
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve tooling, layup techniques, and production efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 5S and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a high level of precision while maintaining a fast-paced work cadence
  • 0–20 years of experience in carbon fiber composite manufacturing or an equivalent hands-on manufacturing skillset
  • Experience with composite pre-preg materials, ply orientation, vacuum bagging, and cure processes
  • Experience with trimming, sanding, drilling, and finishing composite components
  • Understanding of composite manufacturing processes, quality standards, and inspection methods
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, ply books, and manufacturing work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality aerospace parts
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with common hand tools, pneumatic tools, and composite trimming equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aerospace composite layup and autoclave manufacturing
  • Experience operating CNC trim equipment or composite trimming fixtures
  • Knowledge of composite defect identification and repair techniques
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
  • 5S implementation experience
  • Willingness to work overtime to support production schedules

Compensation:

We offer a highly competitive pay commensurate with experience and skills. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

Pay:

Level 1: $20 - $35 hourly plus profit sharing. 0 - 5 Years Experience, Fast Learner.

Level 2: $30 - $50 hourly plus profit sharing. 2 - 10 Years Experience, Experienced Learner.

Level 3: $45 - $65 hourly plus profit sharing. 5 - 20 Years Experience, Expert.

Level 4: $60 hourly plus profit sharing. World Class

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $65.00 per hour
