Position Overview
In this role, you will oversee product and packaging approvals from start to finish, ensuring that every item aligns with licensor requirements, brand standards, and internal timelines. This position requires a proactive problem-solver who understands the importance of licensor compliance and can effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines across departments including Product Development, Production, Marketing, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product and packaging approvals through the full lifecycle approval process.
- Liaise with internal teams — including Product Development, Production, Finance, and Marketing — ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Provide timely and ongoing follow-up on all items in the approval pipeline.
- Track and ensure all product approvals align with key ship dates.
- Ensure compliance with licensors’ creative, product, and marketing requirements and contractual obligations.
- Manage and organize documentation such as test reports, customs letters, and manufacturer’s agreements.
- Gather and submit sales and distributor marketing assets and collateral for licensor approvals.
- Maintain accurate product, licensing, and approval records across all platforms and databases.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience with licensing submissions or online approval portals is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across departments and external partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to quickly learn new software platforms used for product approval and project management.
- Familiarity with online approval systems (e.g., Disney OPA, MyMediaBox, Brand Approval Systems, Monday.com, etc.).
- Team-player mindset: Proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Experience in the toy industry or consumer products licensing is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensing role (product approvals, brand management, or related field).
Salary
Range: $65,000.00 - $71,000.00 per year
