- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring precision and comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral images and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records using our electronic health record (EHR) system (Tab32); document medical history, treatment notes, and medical documentation accurately.
- Perform chairside assisting and provide support during procedures with four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Educate patients on oral health care instructions, post-operative care, and explain treatment plans using clear dental terminology.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records efficiently.
- Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) with valid licensure.
- Proven experience in general dentistry.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while following safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
